Maeva Naylor opened Mavea's School of Dance fifty four years ago in the basement of her home. In July of 2003, The Dance Centre' originated from two successful Wapakoneta Dance Studios uniting their businesses and has grown into an 8,000 square foot facility with five fabulous studios. After 29 years of teaching dance at her studio, Pam Houston's School of Dance, Pam Houston & Maeva Naylor and their staff merged to form one united studio devoted to the art of dance. We have the finest teaching staff in the area! The Dance Centre' instructors are professionally trained and experienced, having studied with some of the top dancers and dance educators from California to New York! Both studios have trained many accomplished dancers from amateur to professional! Many alumni have gone on to achieve careers as professional dancers in a variety of venues. You can see several of our alumni on the stages at Disney World in Florida, Tokyo, and Disneyland, California. You can watch many former Dance Centre’ students on stage in theatres at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Branson, Missouri and several Las Vegas shows. A variety of cruise lines spotlights several of our former students as well. The Dance Centre has trained and educated dancers that have performed at amusement parks and on dance teams. Our alumni, Kent Boyd, went on to be 1st runner up in the show “So You Think You Can Dance” and won the hearts of America. We have had past students become dance instructors and studio owners. Whether it’s for the sheer enjoyment of dance or to pursue dance as a profession, we strive to give each student top quality dance education and instruction which they can carry with them for the rest of their lives..
